MadMorgan, that certainly does look like old firmware. The updater is not complaining that it doesn't recognize your serial number is it? If you have an account on a site like mediafire or something like that, you could upload your picture of your error messages and let us have a look at it that way. You might be able to upgrade just using the files in the firmware development section, but I'm not sure if there are any issues with firmware as old as yours or not. You may just want to try it again a little later. It may also be permanently gone since Pandigital appears to have gone out of business, and at least partially bought out. I tried the updater on mine. It doesn't work for me either, although I got a different error than you did. I'm pretty sure all the updater did was look up an appropriate firmware file for your unit, load it on your unit, and reboot for you. It's probably fine to just load one of the firmware updates from here, but I'd wait for Terminander or somebody familiar with the old stuff to confirm it.
